A Strategy for Success – Britain’s Economy in a Changing World
The Rt Hon David Gauke MP to give Politeia’s Winter Address
Thursday 9th February, 6 – 7 p.m.
This year, as the UK prepares to leave the EU, the focus will be on the conditions needed for a strong economy and future prosperity to the benefit of the whole country.
On Thursday 9th January, 6-7pm, The Rt Hon David Gauke MP, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, will give Politeia’s Winter Address. The Address will consider some of the questions at the heart of policy for Britain in 2017 looking ahead.
Treasury ministers have made clear that encouraging business, good infrastructure and public sector reform will all be central to the strategy. So too will the management of public spending, with the aim of a 2 per cent underlying deficit by 2020 and curbing overall levels of public spending.
- What should be the priorities for Britain’s economy?
- What steps are needed to consolidate economic recovery?
- How can the economy and the country best prepare for the opportunities brought by its changing global role?
