Professor Robert Gildea FBA
Robert Gildea is Professor of Modern History at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of Worcester College, Oxford. He specialises in French and European history in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and is the author of Fighters in the Shadows: A New History of the French Resistance (2015) and Europe’s 1968: Voices of Revolt (2013). A Fellow of the British Academy, he was the co-author for Politeia of The State, National Identity and Schools (with New Direction, 2017).
