Dr Liam Fox has been a Conservative Member of Parliament since 1992, representing Woodspring (1992-2010) and then North Somerset (since 2010). He served as Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade between 2016 and 2019 and as Secretary of State for Defence between 2010 and 2011, and was Chairman of the Conservative Party between 2003 and 2005. He was an unsuccessful candidate to be Secretary-General of the World Trade Organization in 2020. His Politeia publications include The Armed Forces, NATO and the EU: What Should the UK’s Role Be?
