Lord George GBE

Eddie George was Governor of the Bank of England between 1993 and 2003. He joined the Bank after graduating from Cambridge in the early 1960s and remained there apart from secondments to Moscow State University, the Bank for International Settlements and the International Monetary Fund. He was ennobled in 2004 and was author for Politeia of Banking on Stability: A Formula for Economic Success (2008).
