David Gauke was Conservative MP for Hertfordshire South West between 2005 and 2019, serving as Secretary of State for Justice and Lord Chancellor (2018-2019) and Secretary of for Work and Pensions (2017-2018), following seven years as a minister at the Treasury. He is a law graduate from the University of Oxford and a qualified solicitor who worked at a leading City law firm before entering Parliament.
